Understood, don't do it. I agree that I should be ok running the AC as long as I hog the circuit. A 4500 watt Yamaha generator is on the list but probably not until over the winter. I do have a 2000 watt Yamaha now, in a pinch I think it would also run just the AC. Just saw all the 50 amp cheater boxes and it got me to thinking, should have known that was a bad idea. LOL!

I mentioned this in post 15.

Actually on 2nd thought if you got two circuits that were on the
same leg of the same transformer and hooked them together
it would not be a short.
It also would not be a good idea.

Run your roof AC off one outlet/circuit.
Make coffee or run the microwave off another circuit via extension cord
or just shut off the AC while you make coffee.
That's what we do on the rare occasion we're on 20 Amp.

to run an individual appliance form another extension cord, i can go along with. i wouldn't attempt any kind of combining. it just makes it too easy for something to go wrong.
the example was two 30 amp pig tails to a 50 amp socket. 50 amp service has two independent circuits and u can do this without having to worry abt phase. on 50 amp u aren't actually combining anything; u are simply supplying the two independent circuits from two different sources. 30 amp only has one circuit. it's something i wouldn't want to do.

I prefaced every post with a caveat that I did NOT recommend it.
He asked if it was possible and it is; just not smart.

Too easy to make a mistake.
You are at the mercy of someone using any appliance (even a shop light) on outlets you do not control.
You have NO overload protection.
The list goes on.

I agree with Lou, it is possible, but you better know exactly what you are doing. It is one thing to goof and burn your camper up, but is somrthing totally different to hurt someone else. Like mama said "don't play with that"!

off the top of my head, the only feed back danger i can see is if u have one of the parallel runs plugged in and someone came in contact with the other plug. it would be live.

Yep, "Lock Out - Tag Out" nightmare.

I think the best solution is to use and extension cord as others have suggested to an outlet on a different breaker. Sneak it through the bottom slide seal and power your appliances with it when you are running the micro or AC. Run the water heater on propane and you should be fine.

Wow, some of the answers you received are not very helpful. An adapter is (was) available on ebay item # 260977725458. You can then siamese two electrical cords and pull up to 15 amps from each one. Be careful as when you plug in one cord the other male ends are live but mine works great and I pull 25 amps with both air conditioners on. You do need to be on breakers that are connected to the same pole in the panel. Ask smart electrician and he can help! Good Luck.

Hate to say it, but finding two duplex's on different breakers from the same phase will be hard to do (never seen one personally). The downside of finding 2 duplexes wired to two different legs of 220 is too horrible to contemplate.

I used a multi meter and found the difference easily. It sounds like you would need an electrician to help you, but I had no problem.

I am an electrician and I would not help anyone do this. There are alot of things to go wrong. This all reminds me of the things people do to run backup power to their homes during ice storms. Some people will get desparate with no regard to their property or the safety of the linemen working on the lines. Bottom line: if this was a good idea, someone would already make an adaptor for it. The ebay item is just a more secure connection than the standard 15 amp to 30 amp adaptor. The good thing about them is you get the whole outlet and nobody else can plug in. The best thing is to 1. get yourself a 120V/30A recep 2. get a manly generator that will take care of your power needs 3. use your adaptor to plug the camper and sneek an extension cord in for the toaster or whatever. We did the 3rd to run an electric heater once and it worked good. (My honda 2000 couldn't do the edenPure and the converter at the same time)

So, fast murray, if you split the plug, as many kitchen plugs used to be, and made sure two 14/2 lines were connected to two breakers that were on the same pole, you would get two 15 amp circuits. Or you could connect two cords to the adaptor on two different breakers on the same pole and all is well. This works at my home and granted you may not be able to do this everywhere, but it works just fine for me.

I looked at your "adapter."
What a rip off.
Hope you got it for free.

You will only get 20 amps same as one of these:

I have to apologize. That was a little "raw."

I was still a bit hurt from the "Need an electrician to hook up" comment.

I have an idea: Stay home and watch the race on TV! Would be a lot cheaper and safer than what has been discussed.

No one has mentioned another possibility, that as a commercial site, the 115v supplying multiple outlets might be 3 phase. That would be rare, but they are not catering to RV's.

This is a bad idea any way you look at it.

I'm not the one selling these but there is no clam in the ebay add that this will give you 30 amps. The only clam is "Uses two 15amp outlets instead of one to reduce heat output!" Herks right you would only get 15 or 20 amps.
I'm not an electrician, but I did sleep in a Rockwood last night...
