Any risk if I leave camper plugged in?
I am thinking about leaving the TT plugged into an outside GFI outlet on my house. I have done this for more that a week at different times, with no noticeable trouble. A buddy recently advised that I may burn up something.
I accept that the house could send a bad jolt to the rig, but still, short of that (no pun intended), Is there a danger? If I did that and kept the fridge on electric, does it stand to suffer?
I stopped doing this on my buddy's advise. Can anyone share caution/experience advise?

I don't do it only because my camper is parked about 200' from my house and I have no electric there, but a buddy of mine leaves his plugged in all the time to a receptacle in his garage. I have read of several people on here doing it also. I think you will be fine.
Get yourself a progressive industries EMS and then it will shut down if there is a power issue. (I haven't gotten one of those yet, but it is on my list)

No reason to stop at all...it's made to be plugged in. Just don't expect to run much, won't be enough juice to run your a/c. If you are concerned about power from the house you could buy a surge protector, which is a good thing to have for campgrounds anyhow, then you will be protected. For not all that much money, you could install a 30amp plug for your RV at your house and then you could run more and even your a/c if need be.

If you have a 13,500 a/c, 20 amp circuit from house will run it....but a hard wired surge protector is really advised....Am on a cross country trip right now and am not worried about anything getting toasted. Don't like the smoke gennie.

you will deplete water from the TT battery on constant charge,
not a problem but, pop off the caps on the battery(s) and refill with distilled water every 2-3 months... to the bottom of the split ring on the fill hole

I leave mine plugged in at Home, no surge guard. The rest of my house does not have any Surge Suppression. Underground delivery and many transformers before lighting can enter the system. The park we stayed at last night was a mess of wiring and the power box I had the 30 amp breaker was falling out of the box, that worries me.

Mine stays plugged in 24/7. I have a 4 stage converter that will maintain the batteries without boiling them.

Good advise on the distilled water to the batteries, you'll get the maximum life out of the deep cycle batteries. I would add the suggestion that you clean the terminals and remove the accumulation of mung on the top of the battery with baking soda, a toothbrush and flush with water. That mung is conductive and will discharge the battery just as fast as any other parasitic load on the system

Ours is plugged in24/7 when we are at home. Even with the WFCO converter that a good number of people deem as POS, I only have to add water a few times a year. My batteries are now close to 8 years old and not showing any ill effects from WFCO charger.

Take a volt meter....place neg. Lead on batt. post, take pos. lead and touch to battery case over by/around the pos. pos . If batt. dirty, it will surprise you .

I keep mine plugged into the 50 AMP plug that I installed at my house. I do this summer or winter any time that I am not using it. If you have a water battery you need to be sure that it is full. I set it on about 80 F in the summer and 40 F in the very short winter that we have in SE Texas. I set both AVs or heaters.
