The "Bulk Mode" usually does not come on until the batteries are below 50% state of charge, and even if that happens it cuts out well before the 80 to 85% charged level like better units.

I'm not sure what brand of converter/charger I have currently. Will try to find out.

Its a brand new XLR Nitro 25KW if anyone knows what those ship with.

What brands/models are recommended as replacements?

Still will eat up battery power a lot. It's the most inefficient appliance in RVs, both in 12v power and propane.

Confirming the battery monitor from Victron is the BMV 700 or 702 for heat measurements as an add on. The Victron makes some of the best components in the business. You will find them in million dollar Saber yaughts .
