Bad light switch

I think my light got hot and burned up the switch. It was locked in the on position. I took the fixture down and then the switch worked again. Once the fixture was put back up the toggle switch worked for a few minutes and now it freely goes from off to on, no click to it, and it won't turn the light on.

Can I replace just the switch or do I need a whole new fixture? Where can I get a switch? I don't see any brands or markings on the fixture.

I know the 921 lights burn hot so I'm wondering if that heated up the fixture and switch and got it to stick on? Do you guys think LED would be better/safer so they aren't putting off that much heat?

I can't see in the photo if it looks like the switch can be removed from the fixture. You'll probably have to replace the entire fixture. It looks like you may have had a loose connection at the switch...the white wire.

The neutral has some discoloration, but it's a tight connection. It looks like the switch might pop out, but didn't want to try and break something until someone on here said it would or not. I would prefer to just replace the switch if possible.
