FYI,
I called Frank's Voltage (888-624-3347) and guess who anwsered the phone... Frank himself :-)! He explained the difference in his patented unit is that it actually "compensates" for the voltage difference... only one in the world." This means you would not experience an interuption in power. Pricey at $449.00 for 30amp ($600 for 50amp) but does offer more advantages than other units. For me, I just want to protect my TT electronics, so I guess you get what you pay for. I expect that the PI EMS PT30c will meet my needs in the $236-299 range.

Frank said anyone from our forum can receive Free shipping ($30 value)...

I got this one too during a really good sale at Camping World. I had a $50 off coupon from renewing the President's Club membership that I was able to use at the same time on top of the sale price.

This SP came in handy the second time I used it at a campground that was only about a year old. As for securing it I add a lock to the pedestal lid. There's usually a little hold that a lock can fit to keep the lid from opening up.

Bought the same one. Havent had a chance to use it yet, but we also got the lock. Better be safe than sorry

I agree about how much other stuff someone could "borrow" from your campsite. I remember one place we stayed, the site next to ours had so much outside(bikes, toys, chairs, tables, fishing gear, boat,.....) I just knew somebody was inside that trailer. Never saw anybody the whole time we were there!

I too have never missed anything from my site either. But, I remember when I was a kid, we would leave the house unlocked when we left for a short time. Now, we lock the door behind us everytime we come inside!

Good idea about the lock on the power box. The campground could possibly question you about locking the lid closed. If you need to quickly shut the power off, remember where the key is!

FYI,

My PI EMS PT-30c arrived yesterday from CW (1 week ship time). The box had a sticker that now says "Lifetime Warranty".

Heads up: the EMS HW-30C is on sale through tomorrow (5/6) at Camping World. I just order mine for $208.57. I've wanted to get one for the new Roo and this is by far the cheapest I've seen it.
