Best price on Honda 2000
I hate doing this but I've searched for over an hour. I remember a few people mentioning a Honda dealer that offers a very good price on generators, but you have to call to get the price. The prices on their website says "call for price". Does this ring a bell for anyone? If not, if you've paid less than the $999 I can find pretty much anywhere please let me know where that was. I'm in the market for one.
Thanks!

No, one Honda 2000 will not run an air conditioner. It needs to be paralleled to a companion generator.
Lowest I have ever seen a Honda 2000 was at a Sportsmans Warehouse for $895.

It's not size of the camper that matters, it's the BTUs of the a/c.
If it's 13.5 or higher, No.

Not nessarily true. An easy start system will run a 13,500 a/c with a honda 2000. I have a buddy that uses this setup, and he can run it on eco mode. They have many documented cases of the honda 2000 doing it. Check it out. It is a cool product. A bit pricey but much cheaper than buying a second genny. Of course, you won't be able to run as much as you could with two of them, but depends on what your needs are and what you are comfortable paying. Good luck,

Bought one yesterday for less than that. It is the Honda eu2000i companion model. Ukiah Motor Sports.

In my experience, trying to save a little up front is not worth the savings in the long run. I purchased both of mine from a reputable dealer in town. If I ever have any trouble, I can take it right back to them and have it serviced. Peace of mind on dependable service is worth every cent to me.

Generac
I have not seen anyone mention the Generac generators. They seem to be a more convenient generator to have and are cheaper.
Has anyone bought one and used it with their TT?
Any comments about them??
Just curious.

Sometimes you see "Extras" included with the genny at the$999 price. When I bought mine in 2006, a local Honda Power Products dealer was willing to give me a kit with all the tune up parts and some oil at no additional cost.

There is a reason you have not seen Generac generators mentioned, they are louder than Honda, not reliable and heavy. I ran several in the Florida everglades and they don't last.

I bought the Honda 2000,ANDthe companion 2000 to run together in 2016 ,and have had no problems running a/c and microwave and tv all at same time. I paid the going price of around 999 for each, but got some extras from the company like 3 heavy duty extension cords, and the cable that connects both gens

I may try some of the others mentioned. My local dealers will not deal at all nor throw in any extras. I do believe they will service them if/when needed though. At worst I'll take my other offers to them to see if they'll match.

Honda and Yamaha inverter/generators are the Gold Standard. Those brands' reliability, longevity, smooth, quiet operation are unmatched. ALL other brands are wannabes.
As for running one AC unit with a 2KW genny, YES, it can be done safely IF, the AC unit is equipped with a hard start capacitor. Some AC units come with them pre-installed; many AC units can get them as an optional upgrade. The hard start capacitor stores the extra power an AC needs only when first starting up.
