Good thought, but my problem there is being mobile.. especially this month as we aren't anywhere longer than 4 nights.
On edit: who am I lying? My lack of mechanical ability scares me from buying used.

I've used these in my house.
Am going to try to put one on the closet side, under the bed.
Replace the outlet that is there.

I've heard great things about this one: http://www.amazon.com/Champion-Power...pion+generator
but we don't have a generator yet.

Planning to a couple month cross country trip in April. Assuming I might take advantage of Walmart parking lots occasionally to save some $. What do you think would be sufficient in a generator just run basic electric/refer, TV, lights of the night. Pulling a 2015 Flagstaff Micro lite - 22ft. 30 AMP. Thanks for your help.

Champion 2000. Almost half the price of a Honda 2000.

champion 2000i runs ours like a champ. A parallel kit can be added later to run AC.

OC's setup is pretty sweet. I too have "been meaning" to buy a dedicated pair of scissor jacks for this purpose. In the meantime however...I realized that between the truck I pull our trailer with and our car, I already had a pair of perfectly suitable jacks for testing the bounce elimination theory. It has turned into a permanent test. (hint...it's well worth the effort!)

And a lot louder..........
I own both and can say that from first hand side by side experience. The Champion is quiet in its own right if you're comparing it to say, a Ryobi, Predator, or something else. No way does it compare to the Honda, or Yamaha for that matter, in the noise dept. Those two are in a different league which is why they are in a different price league also. Not knocking the Champion but if your going to be running the generator around other campers, do yourself and them a favor and get the Honda.
ependydad, wherever you choose to buy one, make sure they are an "authorized" Honda equipment dealer.

Sounds like your Champion might need a new muffler. I have a Champion 2000 and my neighbor has a Honda 2000 and we both agree they have the same noise level.
Ratings from Honda and Champion websites.
Honda (Canada) Specs: Honda 2000 - 53 db @ 7 meters (23 feet)
Champion (Home Page) Specs: Champion 2000 - 53 db @ 23 feet (7 meters)
I don't know, but the above ratings kinda look the same to me.

Be very careful using your generator ( what ever brand) in Wally World parking lots. The could walk away if not secured VERY well.

Does that impact warranty? Wherever I buy from, I'll very likely never step foot in the store/shop again.
