Like the fancy Victron.

However, I bought the $35 one on Amazon. BM2. Installed last week.

Transmits your voltage to your phone. Installed in 10 minutes in my fuse panel. Cut the ends off and used a spare circuit. Easy.

Works perfectly. Keeps records of voltage. I do not need to read the amperage being used. Complicates the installation.

I also have the Victron 712. They have a nice system also if you have other Victron products. I bought the solar charger. The monitor and charger communicate with each other so they can automatically adjust voltage if needed. Good system.

Can I set up the BM2 on 2 batteries, right in the battery box?

May complicate the installation but you have no record of what is probably the most important data from your battery. An accurate measurement of State Of Charge.

Sometimes the extra effort pays off in far larger rewards.

If all you want is voltage why bother installing another device. Just use the factory installed LED "Tree". It shows state of charge by voltage reading only. Of course it will tell you your batteries are charged long before they really are and actual state of charge on the batteries will vary greatly with the temp of the batteries.

Then again look at all the money you saved.

If you have the optional battery temperature sensor installed. If not, it's a great investment.

Even if you don't have the remote battery temp sensor installed, the BMV communicates the battery voltage to the solar controller so it now has remote voltage sensing. Kind of a no brainer to make sure both items are Victron for sure.

Reading just the voltage is kinda useless unless you have all loads off and the battery doesn't have a surface charge from the converter. Only time its really accurate is in the morning. $185 for the Victron BMV-712 is well worth it.

Stubby fingers on a phone...I hit a lot of accidental letters and numbers. 712, I installed mine today, as well.
