Can’t get power when plugged in

We have replaced our power cord twice. On our last trip, the cord had to ‘hang’ in order to run anything, and it would not run the microwave. We have now replaced the 30 amp plugin for it and it still doesn’t work. This is a rock wood mini lite. We don’t know where to go from here.

Need more info. What was wrong with the power cords that had to be replaced? Open wire, bad connection, damaged contact bladed?

We thought the cord was the problem. The first new cord worked for a summer, but then it stopped working. We bought a new cord, and that didn’t work. So now we replaced the plugin, and it’s still not working.

The cords looked fine.

Are you twisting the female plug to the right when plugging into the trailer.

Have you checked for power at the receptacle where you are plugged in with a multimeter?

Have you checked for power at the end of the cord where it attaches to the R/V?

Have you checked for power at the distribution box inside the R/V?

You have to start with the basics.

A little more information please.

Is one end of the power cord permanently connected to the TT?
If both ends have connectors, did you twist the connector on the end that connects to the TT?
Look at the prongs of the plug are the discolored? is there any signs of heat damage?
Do you have a multimeter and are you comfortable using it?
Does the light in the microwave light up when plugged in?
Are you using an EMS protection device?

Since 2 people mentioned this, and I've never heard it before- should the female that connects to the TT be twisted slightly when connected? Or are you asking to determine whether the connector may be part of the issue?
My cord that connects to the TT has a ring on it that screws in on top of the connector so maybe that twists it, but I've never intentionally twisted the female connector while plugging in. Should I be?
thanks,

It's a "Twist-Lock" receptacle, so yes you would give it a little twist to the right to lock it and then spin the ring down hold it.

Yes, you line it up with grooves inside, insert end all the way and twist to the right 3/4” -1” (I haven’t measured). Then you turn right to tight the outside lock ring.

Can’t get power when plugged in

We just had that happen after returning home (SD, CA) from an AZ trip! No power to RV from home plug! Took it to our RV dealer for a look-see! I had checked everything but the big surge protector (which I use at home too)! We had over nighted in Yuma! We had lights & everyting at night & am! Dumped & headed home! Had been using battery power! Good thing we arrived late and left real early! The Yuma shore power had fried our surge protector but nothing else!! New Surge Protector and all is well! Dan & Gerda

Our GFCI popped. No power to anything on 110 side. Breaker was good after friendly electrician checked with multimeter. Microwave light came on. Heading to dealership next week to find out why. Just mentioning other issues beside cord could be the problem. (And we rotate the cord head after connecting.)
