Charging Lithium Batteries

My 2023 MiniLite with WFCO converter has changed over to the lithium mode to support two 100 amp hour batteries but the charge amps are about 12-16 amps (likely wire size restricted) which takes a while on shore power to recharge my batteries-but does eventually charge to 100%. I also have a dc to dc 40 amp charger on my vehicle which charges me back in a quarter of the time.

I have the heavier wiring done for my dc to dc charger on the hitch (with a Anderson connector), I was considering using an external 60 amp or 80 amp charger connected to the Anderson connector through a 2200i generator.

Since my batteries will take 100 amps of charge—If I went with a 60 amp charger on the hitch, could I also plug the generator into shorepower (at the sametime) to add more charge plus run microwave/coffee maker in the morning?

Maybe too much for the little Honda? Only one way to fine out for sure-just trying to help me justify the another $275 for an external charger. Ha

Any thoughts from others trying to recharge lithiums quicker while boondocking?

check the negative cables
frame to rounds to the battery
AND the converter to frame negative

Both of them need to be real good connection
metal lug to metal of the frame
no paint dirt or washers between them

unfortunately the Converter negative will be harder to find and fix as it will most likely be under the trailer behind the underbelly

took me about 2 hours cause I hate laying on the ground

Once fixed I get near 50amps from my converter into battery
converter is 55amp model.

Are you sure your converter has switched? Do you see the blue LED? You can measure the charging voltage at the converter using the test point on the back of the battery fuse to verify it's putting out around 14.6V. Don't measure it at the battery - too much voltage drop to get an accurate measurement, even with good cabling.

I have not checked for a blue LED. I just assumed it was switched to lithium because it charged my batteries back to a full 200 amps or 100%. Thanks, I will double check with a meter and check grounds.

Then you might want to read this. I was getting a full charge, albeit slowly, without the converter going into LFP mode.
