Cheap lithium batteries

Has anyone bought some of the under $500 100AH batteries that have been on Amazon or EBay? Here’s an example

I can’t speak to the batteries, but bear in mind, LiIon requires a thorough BMS (battery management system) which manages all charging behaviors. There’s no such thing as a drop in replacement. These “cheap/easy” solutions always make me cringe.

There are quite a few threads on here that elaborate on all the considerations when making the jump.

Bit the bullet! Not a battle born, renogy or other fancy pants battery but a Weize for much lower price and 4 day shipping

Now I need to verify that my simple 100 watt solar and 20A PWM controller can keep it charged.

Yes, do keep us posted how it works out. May the cheap battery gods not catch your trailer on fire! (Just based on horror stories I've read about cheap Chinese batteries).

Just one battery for now. I want to make sure it’s not a piece of junk before investing to much.
My biggest issue is my TT is snowed in by the plow from almost 4 feet of snow we have had in NW Jersey!

My money is on you regretting not biting the bullet and spending the money on a reputable product. It’s not like this is a harbor freight wrench you’re dealing with here. As has been mentioned, there are potential fire hazards involved when using cheap LiIon batteries.

The flaming batteries are LiPo's (lithium-polymer) not the LiFePo4's (lifhium-iron-phosphate) batteries being sold for RV's.

Even Tesla will be changing to LiFePo4 batteries to avoid fire issues as well as cost considerations.

LiIon aren’t the same. There is plenty of quality LiFePo batteries out there. If you’re willing to do a little handy work you can build your own that has nearly 3 times more capacity for not much more than these.

I know how you feel....I went outside today and measured 5 1/2 inches of sunshine...lol...Hope it melts soon and will be watching as well to see how the batteries work out

They are LiFePO4 batteries, and generally safe.

I bought a pair of SOK 100A 12V LFP batteries for $570 each. I don't have much experience with them yet but they seem to be well constructed and I measured the capacity to be greater than the label. They're currently in short supply due to a positive review by Will Prowse and problems getting them off ships in Long Beach.

They're made in China but the vendor has a warehouse in MI. Once they get caught up I think shipping will be prompt. Customer support is excellent.

good ones with quality BMS won't let you so don't lose any sleep.

I bought 2 of them but I didn't use them in rv .I hooked them up to 1200 watt UPS that runs 75" tv DirecTV receiver , modem , 8 port switch , router ,sound system . I used 100 amp diode to stop charging from UPS and used their charger that came with batteries . also 18 volt Ryobi battery charger . charged up batteries tested system ran for 12 hours and was still going strong when stopped test . Been in use for 3 months now no problems yet . As always time will tell .I do have to voltxcell batteries in camper been installed for two years still working fine . I also charged two 4 amp Ryobi batteries while running test .

My 2 cents check out DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse on youtube, he does extensive reviews on batteries and solar technology. He does not play favorites tells it like it is.

Personally, Id stick with Battle Born batteries, Made in USA and the warranty Customer service is except
