Converter issues?

We have a 2019 cedar creek hathaway 34ik. Have had issues with converter not working. Just set up a week ago and our batteries are dead.
1st question. Can we charge the batteries while there still hooked up.
2 does anyone know where the battery disconnect is on this unit.
The killer is we just got it back after being in shop for 5 months. Ugh, things still are not working. Needless to say they haven't retyrened my calls.

If it's been in the shop for 5 months and they didn't take care of the batteries, they may have killed them.

You should be able to charge them in place. A battery charger should tell you if they are charged.

A battery disconnect in the rig won't help with the 'parasitic drain' that most rigs have.

You can install a battery disconnect switch on the battery itself that will stop the drain, or just disconnect the negative battery cable.

Thank you. We know the batteries are dead. When we set it up the inverter was showing low battery. So apperenty the converter has not charged them.

what was the voltage at the battery before you plugged into shore power? what is the voltage at the battery after you plugged in? if they were/are dead you should see 13-14 volts after plugging in. Or look at the battery monitor, if it shows little to no charge prior to plugging in, then "charging" or "full" right after plugging in then the converter is fine. If the converter is charging the batteries but they're not holding a charge then they're probably dead, taking lead-acid batteries below 12 volts hurts them a lot

I figured it out.!!! Its was the battery disconnect switch. I finally found it. If anyone wants to know on a 2019 cedar creek hathaway 34ik it is located right under the ciy water hook up. Felt kinda stupid once I seen it because it was so obvious. Just hoping it didnt fry the batteries. Since they were dead.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know what it was. Don't feel bad, lots of us have done things like that. Just be glad it was an easy fix. Hopefully you didn't hurt the batteries too badly.
