Daisy-Chain 30amp Cables

Happy Sunday Everybody! We're going to a campground this week with the hitching posts pretty far apart from the spots. I have got two 25-foot 30amp power cables that screw into the side of my TT and would like to hook them together to form a 50' cable. I want to be sure I can reach the post.

I don't really want to invest in a 50' cable if I don't have to....

Has anyone seen a connector I could get to daisy-chain two power cables together?

Ready available on Internet or any good RV store. Get an extension so you don't need any kind of connector.

People hook them together all the time,no need to buy a one piece (50)foot cord. Youroo!!

I've got two twenty fives connected for those long distance park poles.
And a separate 25' er.


They are connected via 30 amp twist locks vs the normal 30 amp plug and receptacle.
They cannot be used in any other combination.

You can clearly see the camper end, the power pole end and the thirty amp twist locks connected and then un connected.

These cables only work as a set and cannot be used separately.

This will work with your current cord nothing else needed.

I would cut a camper end off of one of the cords with about 12" of wire left on it. Then hook up a female end to the long cord to use as an extension , and a 15amp male plug to hook to the short camper end to use as an adapter. This way you can use a regular extension cord to hook minimal power to you camper for battery charging/fridge/lights, and don't have to drag a big cord out.

This is what you should do. If you have two "camper" cables, and want to connect them together you are going to have to cut the 30 amp male plug off one of the cords and put this male plug on.

I'm trying to remember here, but don't have my TT available...does the camper cable have the L-shaped prong? I was thinking all three prongs were flat....

This is what Turbs had done. What I suggested would cost half as much and give you an adapter to use a regular extension cord while parked at home.

Your camper should have a 1/4 turn twist lock on it.
In my first two pictures its the bigger yellow end with the nut on it.

And the male end is a round ground with 2 straight prongs.

Yes ....
Which would allow the cord I linked to at amazon to connect the two.

Original cord with camper plugs into camper.
New cord connects to that and then the pole.

Least inexpensive way to do this.

okay...think I'm getting it now.... I just didn't think the outlet at the hitching post had an L-shaped prong on them.... I'll see if I can't find the connector at Lowe's maybe.... if not, I can order online or even buy an extension cord to just have one handy.

He has two cords already; just two identical camper cords. they won't connect to each other without an end change on one or an adapter special made to have a 30 amp female and a camper end male.

The cord is the expensive part. Might be just as easy to cut off the camper end (female) and put a 30 amp female on it to make an extension cord.

Now you're catching on.. . Then use the extra camper end to make an adapter by adding a male 15amp plug. Essentially a $30 adapter for next to nothing.
