Did I break our PMS
We used our TRC surge guard all summer at our summer site. Did not notice any problems. We took a trip and had trouble getting power to TT. Unplugged Surge Protector and tried again. Nothing. Used a 50 amp adapter to 30 AMP and all worked great for 7 days. Next campsite, had to try 3 times before power got to TT. Surge Protector said Green all.go 120 each time.
After getting home we tested power cord plugged directly into our home dedicated 30 amp outlet. No problem so we think cord is good. Plugged in surge protector,it said all good, but no power to TT.
Can it be a bad surge protector? We think it is 3 years old.

Is there a time delay between when you plug in and when it allows power through? I know the Progressive Industries EMS have that. Could it just be that you weren't waiting the 2-5 minutes after plugging in?
Otherwise, I think you'd be best served contacting SurgeGuard's customer service/tech support.

Thanks, yes. I wait until I hear the click and the green light comes on. Just nothing in the trailer.

How well does the trailer's shore cord fit into the receptacle of the device?
If the display reads OK it 'should' be outputting power to the receptacle you plug your shore cord into.
Did you check to be sure there was actually power there (where the shore cord blades insert) with a multimeter?

We did not check to see if power was at the plug of the Surge Protector. We will try that too. On a 30 amp plug, where would I put the positive probe? On either flat side? Thanks for the suggestions and help!

This might help. Positive lead goes on the HOT slot...

Alternating Current

It's alternating current (AC). It switches polarity 60 times per second. There is no positive and negative side. It doesn't matter which lead goes where.
(For that matter, it doesn't matter for DC any more either, now that everyone has digital meters. You just get the reading with a minus sign (-) in front of it if you have it wrong.)

A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks! I have a healthy respect for electricity so I want about to go by trial and error. I will check this tomorrow.

Sorry, I was just trying to answer the question of which slot the positive meter lead should go in. Those of us that regularly use a meter (and grew up reading analog meters where it would bend the needle if the leads were switched) at least try to make the meter read so it makes logical sense. Positive = + = hot. My advice stands.
