Electrical conundrum!!?!??!?

Brought our 2018 Rpod 190 back from a 3 day local trip and hooked back up to 110V shore power. Slide moved out and all power worked. One day later no lights, slide won’t retract, yet the microwave light, bathroom fan and stereo amp are illuminated. Checked all breakers, GFI, and fuses… all good. Trying to figure out where to start electrical diagnostics. BTW, air conditioning shroud blew off the top of camper on the way home. Any ideas?

The slides run off the 12v system. Check your voltage at your batteries. Make sure the salesman switch is not turned off.

first step, get your multimeter!

this is a bit perplexing. microwave light on implies it is getting 120 volt power. fan and stereo on imply that they are getting 12 volt power. but from where, converter, battery, or both? but why no lights which also use 12 volt power.

plug something into a 120 volt receptacle to confirm that 120 volt is present. sounds like it is.

measure battery voltage at the terminals with and without being plugged into shore power. we're trying to determine if the battery is fully charged and if it is getting recharged by the converter. next steps would depend upon the outcome of these tests.

this is resolvable if systematically diagnosed.

Battery disconnect switch?

I bought the used 2018 Rpod in March 2020 from a dealer in MO and and not sure if the sealed battery was new then or not. Multimeter showed 8v and after putting a charger on it the voltage jumped to 12v and everything worked. I opened the screen door and left the bathroom vent on to cool the camper. After 30 min everything is dead again...even with the trickle charger, which is not surprising. I went back out after an hour to get info on the battery size before going to Costco. Only then did I discover that both nuts holding down the +/- leads going to the rpod were loose!! I've tightened them down and am expecting my trickle charger to get the battery back to full charge. Thanks for the tips for troubleshooting!

In your opening post you stated you were plugged into 120V power and some 12 volt items are working. The Slide, Awning, and LPG/CO Leak Detector are wired direct to battery so if they aren't working that means you aren't getting power from the Converter to the battery and all those items connected directly to it.

It SOUNDS like the circuit breaker between battery and power center/converter is tripped. This is also why battery is dead. Find the circuit breaker (usually on a frame rail not far from the coupler A-Frame) and reset it. A small black button on one end just needs to be pushed in. It's small (about the size of a wooden kitchen match head) and you might need the end of a small screwdriver , chopstick, pencil, etc, to help with the process.

If you don't reset it the battery will power the slide, etc, but will still go dead in a short while without being charged by the converter.

Did you ever use the battery disconnect switch I mentioned in my previous post?
