Electrical issue

We have a 2006 Forest River Flagstaff 27BHSS and we are having issues with the 12V power on one half of the camper. The light over the bathroom sink and bathroom, vent hood over the stove, the lights over the couch and the power awning are not working. We have checked every fuse we can find, the battery is fully charged and we cannot find what the issue is. We need some help!

Welcome to FRF.
How long have you owned the RV?
Have any of these things ever worked?
Did they all go out at the same time?

Lets list things out one by one just in case there's more than one problem.
1) Light over bathroom sink.
2) Bathroom. Is bathroom a different light?
3) Stove vent hood. Does the vent hood light work?
4) Lights over couch. Is this in a slide out?
5) Awning. Did you find a fuse outside the power center for the awning?

Tell us as much about when and how these things quit as you can.

We have owned the RV for 2 years. These things worked flawlessly until about 2-3 weeks ago. They all went out at the same time.
1. The light in the bathroom, along with the fan are out. We did have a leak
in the bathroom, but it has been repaired.
2. The light over the bathroom sink is out.
3. Nothing works on the stove vent hood.
4. Yes, this is a slide out.
5. Power center? We have not found a specific fuse for the awning or that is
marked awning.

It is so weird all these things went out at one time. We changed all the fuses out to fresh ones, but with no luck with function. My husband used his fluke to check for power, and all the wires that are stored in the slide are all dead. The slide works just fine. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

I tighten every wire in my panel box once a year to make sure everything is snug, heat in the panel box sometimes causes them to get lose.Does not hurt to check to make sure.Have you checked panel with a multimeter?

Yes we have checked the panel and all is good. Seems like we have checked everything out, but there has to be something we are missing. Hopefully, something simple. Electrical repairmen are not cheap!

It sounds like all these items may be on the same circuit. It could be a broken wire at one of the fixtures. I'd start by pulling the fixtures one at a time and testing for voltage.

What happened with the rig between when it did and didn’t work?
The bathroom leak….when did this happen?
Who and how was it repaired?

The camper has been parked in the driveway. We haven’t been able to go anywhere. We were checking it out when we noticed the leak in the bathroom. My son took out the light and fan, repaired it (he’s a builder), rebuilt the area that got wet and reconnected everything. But, those areas were not working prior to the repair. We plan on dropping each light and checking the voltage as suggested here. Wish I could find a manual or at least an electrical schematic for this model so we can make sure we have found every fuse. I appreciate all the ideas given. Going to make sure and try them all. Saw an ad for a mobile repairman but he is 150 to come out an 100/hr after that. Will keep you posted! I wanna go camping!

BAMA RAMBLER What did you mean “outside the power center”? Are you talking about where the fuses are located? Where might the fuse for the awning be? Thanks!

Yes, the Power Center is where the fuses and breakers are located. Sometimes they put the fuse for the slide near the slide motor or near the battery on or under the tongue on the frame. It could be a resettable breaker which may be plastic or metal and have a small button on one end or side.

What is the actual voltage at the battery and in the fuse panel?

This seems like a lot to go out at once so I doubt if it is a fuse / single circuit.

How close are all these items? It could be a bad shared ground connection.

Edit:
I just looked at the floor plan and assuming the battery voltage is good, I suspect a bad ground for most but the awning is probably a separate issue

Thank you for the replies. Where did you find the floor plan? I Wish could find an electrical schematic. Have been checking all the wires and haven’t found a live one yet!

I just googled model and floorplan, I don't think you will find a schematic for any camper. Even if you could it would show what is connected but not where the connections are.

Try running a long wire from the negative meter lead to the battery negative terminal. If you now have power on the wires you know it is a bad ground.

Check under the slide, there should be exposed wires leading to the main unit, see if you can find one or more that splits off and goes to the frame.

Well, after all this time we didn't find the source. Electrical guy was a no-show. So, my husband was able to backfeed the electrical to a good source and it's own fuse. Everything is working now! We suspect it was wire from the (working) bunks to the (non-working) bathroom. Thanks for all the input it is much appreciated!
