I totally agree with this. Our CG charges a meter usage surcharge every month even though the meter has been there for years. It's usually a percentage of the kwh you use, for us its around $5.50 a month. You would think that meter would be paid for by now. They also charge a $2 per meter per month reading charge. They sure rake in the dough having 275 sites with meters. They probably make around $15k a season just having the meters.

Agreed.

Even the most expensive quotes we received when looking at long term campsites was 0.14 cents per kwh. We pay half that at home.

Your bill should be less than $50.

Over the winter months in FL we averaged 425 kwh a month and our bill was never more than $51.

Now... as to why you used 381 kwh when you weren't there but a few times, I can't say but if you are getting rooked on the rate, you might be getting rooked on the reading.
