Electrical system question

Hello all, I have a 2021 Rockwood Signature 5th wheel Model 8298Ks. My 12 volt system doesn't work off the TT Batteries however when I plug my towing vehicles wiring harness into the TT all 12 volt system works. Additionally, when I plug into shore power, everything works as well. My question I guess is why the 12v system will not work unless plugged into my towing vehicles wire harness but not on the trailer batteries alone. I have checked for fuses between the battery and Inverter, the Inverter doesn't read any error codes and I have checked both fuses on the converter and all is well there. I'm scratching my head bald at this point. Any suggestions?
I have also replaced both batteries as well and they are wired correctly.

Were the batteries recently replaced or reinstalled? If so, you probably tripped the 12v resettable circuit breaker

As bikendan suggested, check out your 12 volt DC circuit breaker.

This thread will help explain what/where it is.

Thanks for the photo's. I have 4 of those type fuses. Before I run back over to the storage facility, Do you have to have the trailer plugged into shore power to reset these type of breakers? If so I will take my Generators with me.

NO, this is a 12 volt DC circuit breaker. You do not need shore power for these to reset.

However if your battery is depleted from not being recharged then you will still need the generators to power up the converter in order to recharge the battery.

If the 12V works with the 7-pin, that's a clue. On mine, the 7-pin from the truck ties in at the front near the battery and uses the same wire and breaker on the frame to get back into the fuse panel. That said, it seems like the path is OK, leaving a dead battery/poor connection/open ground as the problem.

Thanks, I checked the battery yesterday and got 13.6 vdc, all of the fuses and one breaker all had 13.6 vdc on all the posts leading to the inverter so this morning I will check them again and the inverter as well. The inverter has 3 displays that read 116vac, 13.6 vdc and. 6 amps. Any clues here?

The 13.6 V you read must have been with the 5er connected to shore power or the tv. That is a charge voltage provided by the converter. Try checking the voltage after about an hour of being disconnected from shore power or tv. Make sure the breakaway switch was not accidentally pulled.

The emergency break away switch/pin for the electric trailer brakes.
If the pin is pulled, it will send constant 12v to the trailer brakes.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. After changing out my battery shut off switch which did nothing I found another junction box up in the rear portion of my kingpin frame. Pushed the breaker reset button and all is good now. 12v system works as it should. What a pain!!

Excellent. Glad you got it going. You now know for any future reference.

I actually see two of those in your pic. Was it #1 or #2 for us with inquiring minds? Thanks

It was #1 , the funny thing is my wife was reading a post she found on you tube with a similar situation with a goose neck where he accidentally found a junction box and breaker after loosing his balance as he fell he apparently saw it. So after recovering from his fall he pushed the reset button and all his 12v power came back on in his trailer. The only reason she didn't say anything to me was because of the gooseneck configuration. Could have saved me from any more agony but she did say it has to be something simple. Can't live with'em and can't live without them.
Thanks again. This forum is much more help than the dealership hands down. Happy Camping guys
