Fixing Connection to LED Lights

Hoping someone can give my some direction. I have an LG LED light strip under the awning and the black and red wires that power the strip are not longer connected to the strip and I need to reconnect them. ThanksClick image for larger version

If your good with a low wattage soldering iron you could fix it. You would need to remove some of the silicone to get to the fragile copper foil strips. Then you will need to be sure to clean all the silicone from the copper foil, nothing will stick to any silicone left behind. It would be easier and simpler to replace the LED strip. Your LED strip is made by LCI (Lippert Component Industries) not LG.

Thanks for that Scrapper!

Quick update here. I called Lippert customer service and no easy way to fix the light strip so I ordered a new one.

By the way, their customer service department was great! Sent them some pictures to make sure we got the right lights and I should be good to go.

Are different colors available? I’m not a fan at all of the blue LED strip on our Alpha Wolf - it looks and acts about the same wavelength as blacklights used in a bug zapper.

Just out of curiosity, how much did Lippert charge you for the light strip? I replaced our 16 ft light strip (a few dead spots), this past May with an off-label LED light strip for $10.

It was $151 for the 20 foot one... I chose to go the OEM route since my camper is wired for a Lippert remote control that works everything the lights, the awning, slides and levelers. The lights also have a specific track they fit in that is attached to the awning fabric and I wanted to make sure it fit correctly.

Yeah, I'm "one of those guys"

Come to find out there are lots of different Lippert lights out there, ones that fit in a track that get attached to the awning fabric, one that gets installed on the awning tube and an other that attaches to a track that is on the RV wall..

If you're not sure which one, give them a call, they are very helpful.
