Furnace keep blowing fuses

ok, i was in my new Rockwood 8281SS Fri. & Sat. and i figure i would try using the heater for the first time and it worked fine,
now i moved the camper back to its parking area and went to put the heater back on and now it keeps blowing fuses,
any ideas ???

Had a guy here last winter who's furnace was blowing fuses.
He found a mud daubers nest in the blower "squirrel cage".

You said yours worked and you moved it and now it doesn't
work so maybe that's not your problem but it's worth a look.
You should be able to open it up and get a long skinny screwdriver
in there and give the blower a nudge. It should turn effortlessly.

A careful inspection of the wiring may reveal the pinch that is blowing your fuse. Maybe a critter ate the insulation off a wire and after the move it is touching a metal frame.

Y'all are amazing.... how DO you get to the furnace? I wanted to look at mine one day...and could not for the life of me figure out HOW to get to it

i took to the dealer Monday night (still under warranty) no word on the problem yet
i will let you know what they find

called the dealer and they said it was the blower motor that is blowing the fuse
so they orderd a new motor, should be in next week

We have a new 8329SB we bought in February of this year just prior to the pandemic outbreak. We had some electrical problems on a recent trip so I searched the forum for info on fuses blowing immediately and found this old thread. I thought I would bring it back to life to see how many others have had or are experiencing the same issue.

We experienced the exact same problem as the OP, 4th trip with the new trailer and first time running the heat. The 15 amp fuse that powers all the appliances blew causing the DC side to quit. It immediately blew any replacement fuse. It took some effort and ingenuity to get the 3 slides and 2 awnings retracted since they run off the iRV/QAV electric panel. I took it to a Rockwood warranty service center and they determined it was the blower motor/fan and a new one was on the way. It’s a Suburban furnace and they were covering it under warranty.

Has anyone else had this kind of issue? It shakes my confidence a little given it’s a propane fired device. I appreciate the system worked as designed, the fuse blew and prevented a larger problem but it causes me to worry. Thanks for your replies.

Can you post a picture of the fuses?
It concerns me that one 15 amp fuse powers all the 12 volt appliances.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll try to post pics. There’s nothing much to see once you pull the panel, just spaghetti wires everywhere. I also expressed my concern that maybe the circuit has too much on it but the warranty repair guy said it’s not a problem, my setup is fairly typical of what he sees and not out of the ordinary. He called and said they eliminated each appliance taking them off one at a time and determined it was the furnace fan, there’s no obstruction, just got a bad one from the factory. I always make sure to balance how many items I’m running off shore power against propane to try and avoid a problem. I use a surge protector/circuit analyzer to make sure I’m ok. We expected some type of problem with the shakedown trials of the new unit but I’m worried with it being electricity.

In the pics the corresponding breaker is the Converter and the fuse is #6 Appliance. It’s missing in the pic but the fuse is 15 amp.

I wonder how many others have experienced something like this, how common of an occurrence is it?

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Anything can have an infant mortality, but it doesn't happen very often and once it's replaced, it'll likely last a long time.

I picked up our trailer from the shop yesterday, a big shout out to Naked Bear RV repair in Woodstock VA. They are an official Forest River warranty repair shop and turned it around super quick, in and out in a little over a week. Turns out it was the blower/fan in the furnace. The tech said it’s not all that uncommon. I ran the furnace several hours yesterday and again this morning and it’s performing as it should. No more blown fuses and some peace of mind.
