fuse blowing

Has anybody had problems with fuse on landing gear blowing. I have a 40amp fuse and it blows whenever I use the legs. It started out blowing when I only used battery power from unit. WHen connected to truck, it worked fine. Now it blows all the time, even when connected to truck. I`ve checked for lose wires, but everything looks fine.

I have had mine blow once, replaced a 30 amp with same value. No futher issues but I keep spare fuses on board. Have you measured your battery voltage? Measure it under load to see if it drops. Sounds like the battery is getting weaker since the problem gets progressively worse.

The other thing I would look at is mechanical, to see if anything is binding up.

And welcome to FRF!

If you're blowing a 40 amp fuse then it sounds like the motor is failing.

Does it blow as soon as you press the button?

Does it run a bit before it blows the fuse?

Does it blow when trying to operate it in both directions or just one? (up / down)

Does it blow the fuse when there's no load on the landing gear?

Have you lubed the mechanical parts of the landing gear?

Answer a few of these questions and give us the model of your RV and maybe we can be more help.

AND to FRF

Thanks,,
I`m running with a work and play WPF38FK,,its new and I like it alot other than this fuse problem,,its going to be warranty work I hope,,just getting it in somewhere to fix it,,so busy thought I`d give it a try myself,,
To answer your questions,,
It allows about a 5 second run on motor,,up or down,,then blows the fuse,
Even when gear is up with no load,,still blowing,,checked gear and it does not seem to be binding on anything,,
