Yes. Camping stores and Walmart have chemical pods and /or tablets to take care of that.

Doesn't sound like this would be the OP's issue but on our grey tank they had two of the sensor wires switched and so it would go from 1/3 tank to full in the blink of an eye. Looked at black tank wires and matched the color/order of the grey to the black and now life is good.

Detergent pods are the modern day goldfish.
What I find surprising is that the college students that do things like this are supposed to be the brightest and smartest we have at that age and are supposed to be our future leaders.
Somewhere along the way, something went wrong. Maybe someone pee'd in the genetic pool.

Yes, you CAN use a wand! It ust has to be flexible, like this:

The best products to breakdown the solids in your black tank are products like RV Digest-It and Happy Campers. Both are available from Amazon.com.
Calgon water softener is no longer available in Canada so I can’t use that method anymore. It worked to keep the sensors clean in my black tank but not for the grey tank.
Putting Dawn blue dishwashing soap or Super Clean degreaser in the grey tank will help cut the grease in the tank.

Too bad the installer at the factory wasn't smart enough to do likewise.

Yeah, matching colors isn't rocket science - but that was just one of many issues I found on our TT

Perhaps they'll have to start using "colors in a different language"
FWIW, at one Dealership I visited hopping for my my trailer last July, very few people working in the lot preparing vehicles spoke any English. Easy to understand how mistakes are made in that kind of environment.
