Could you be more specific? No fuse that I have ever seen will blow without current running through it. Specifically what fuse "blows"?

Sorry..I'm just frustrated. My juice pack has not worked since the day I brought it home. The furrion ( playschool) charge controller was so hot I thought it might catch on fire. Obviously something was fried. So I cut of the the wires and installed a wanderer controller ..two things happened. I had no current coming from the panel..and Forest River wouldn't do the warranty because I messed with the controller. I knew that would be the case but I figure this is such a simple system I will replace the panel and the controller and I'm done.

Well the new panel came.. and yes was still hooked to the battery. It is my understanding that you hook to the battery and then the panel? So if I start with the battery connected to the controller..if I try to connect the wires from the panel to the controller..the 10 amp fuse blows. Even if the panel is isn't connected.

Oh..and now I have the panel off the roof Im getting current..

Yes . Battery then panel, or cover the panel with a blanket and it won't matter. Done improperly, the controller could be damaged. I don't see how the 10 amp fuse would blow. 10 amp fuse is good for maybe 180 watt panel max.

Thing is there is no panel connected when I try this..battery is running the controller..and just the wire from the panel will blow my fuse..pretty good spark sometimes too.. I'm hoping the wires from the roof are a straight shot and I can just fish new ones through there from the old.
