Heat AND A/C

Hey all. Last trip we stopped at a Americamps so we had city water and electricity. Hooked up turned on the heater and the
A/C came on also. I had to open up the filter cover and pull the connector I found there. Any one know what is happening before I take it to the RV shop. XLR Hyper-lite toy hauler. Thanks for any info.

Heat AND A/C

You have to switch the A/C to "auto" away from "hi" or "lo":

Help! A/C Comes On When Heat Comes On

X2 on having the T-stat fan switch set to 'auto". BTW your AC probably didn't come on, just the fan.

Thanks for the help. Probably correct about just the fan, I did not wait long enough to feel if it got cold. New experience with the trailer and we just freaked and yanked the connector. Thanks again. Have safe trips. Tom Bolivia N.C.

Hey. The tstat in my trailer does not have an auto setting. There is an on/off button on the bottom and on the left are buttons for Fan, cool, and furnace or cool button may say a/c not positive. There is also digital temp adjustment and ambient temp. If I don't get a hint here and any of my neighbors can't help I will bring it to on of the RV places in Wilmington. Thanks

Look at the Fan settings. My thermostat has fan settings of auto, low and high. If it is not set on auto, the A/C fan will come on when it calls for the furnace to run.

Fonzie, do you guy's also have Dometic A/C's ? I read the manual and it doesn't say it will work on that unit alone. My question is that I wounder if it will work with a coleman A/C, I don't see why not, is your stat a 5 wire stat? Coleman will not allow you to run your A/C Blower with the heat. It would be alot easier to install then the Hunter with having to add the SPDT switch for the fan modes. Also I didn't see a wiring diagram with it.(unless I missed it) I have seen them for 29.00 bucks on Amazon.

I can not answer your question as I have an analog thermostat in my trailer. Hopefully someone else will chime in with info your looking for......

Hey every one. Thanks also to fonzie for the manual link. I did not think of going to the site and downloading the manual in your link. The forest for the trees syndrome. If I had not left my manual for the trailer back in NY I would not have to keep asking basic questions. I will down load the rest of the info I need and post when we are stuck again anyway. Thanks again for the link, Tom
