Help generator starts, runs until
It switches to charge battery and run coach systems and the dies right away.
About 300 hours on 2019 Georgetown. Oil change was at around 150 hours.
Anything simple to check or do? Service appoint was about 60 days out because of Covid.

Fuel starvation, very common problem. Fuel filter plugged up, fuel line kinked, fuel pump failed (more common).

Generator dies after a few minutes
Just experoenced this. What error code is displayed?
To check if it is fuel issue (most often), remove fuel line from carb and press the lower part of the start button to prime. If no gas flows out, replace fuel filter and pump. Easy job.

No issue was not enough air through the air cleaner. New element and drilled some holes in metal end cap. No more problems.

You guys posting part of the post in the subject line and the rest in the body of the post sure make it confusing for those of us that visit the forum on a mobile device where individual post titles DO NOT show up.
PLEASE post all of your post within the body of the post.

Did complete maintenance. Oil filter, oil change, air filter, changed fuel filter, drain gas in line. SOLVED the issue. Thanks for gas starved suggestions.

oil dipstick
Watched a very interesting you tube the other night about Onan generators starting then stopping. Wait 20 min. or so and the same thing happens again.
Turns out the dipstick for the oil is not right. Instead of the oil being up to the full mark it needs to be right above the add line and it will solve the problem of starting and then dying.
You said you just had it serviced so it came to mind. Take about a pint of oil out and restart it and see if it solves the problem.
There are two different guys on you tube talking about this. It might be worth a look.
Search under Onan start and stop issues.

I have a 5500 Onan which had a start and stop issue the drove me nuts.
After doing all the common maintenance items and carb change the problem still happened.
The generator sounded like it would just cut out, like it was a sensor. Well turns out the main positive terminal in the front of the generator was very loose. After tightening it I never had the problem again.
Check all connections.

[SOLVED] Generator Runs, then quits
For my 5500, the fix was to swap out the fuel filter and the fuel pump. Always fuel pump either ran or it didn't. Turns out it has a rubber? gasket to create the suction, and when it gets hot enough, leaks, causing no fuel to pump.
Up and running again!

I replaced the fuel filter and pump and added a 2nd fuel pump near the tank.
I was reading many stories about the fuel tank being too far and straining the pump under the generator causing fuel pump failure.
So far so good!
