High pitch squeal

We have a 2019 FR Wildcat. Our last trip out, whenever the hall light is off, we get a high pitch squeal ( i can hear it, the hubby cannot). If you turn the hall light on, it stops the squeal it lasts for 10 seconds and off for 5 seconds. It’s driving me crazy! I emailed FR, and was told it was the converter and its cooling our fan. But seriously, they can’t expect this to be normal and people are suppose to live with this annoying sound. In researching someone suggested a faulty propane detector, but how would the light being on /off affect that?
Suggestions on where to troubleshoot?

It does sound like it's probably the converter and if it is, it's definitely defective.

Find the converter make and model and call the mfg. directly and explain the symptoms and see what they say.

Any idea where we would find the converter? Is it in the fuse box?

The converter is usually just under or behind the distribution (Fuse/breaker) panel. The fan should run when the load is increased not decreased. It is the unit behind the lower half of the panel in the photo below.

I don't know what model wildcat you have but on mine the converter is behind that distribution panel Flybob posted, you have to take out the four screws and pull he distribution panel out from the wall to find the converter but if you can make the noise start/stop by switching the light then have someone do that while listening close to the panel. But that fan comes on/off on a regular basis whenever you're plugged into shore power so you should hear it other times as well if that's the source.
