Honda Gen causes Surge Protector to reset

I have a 2011 - FR Sierra 5th wheel,Surge Guard 50 Amp, Hardwired, and Honda e2000 generator.
When on house or shore power no issues. But ifbatteries are SOC of 80% I hook up the Honda.
They have tendency to keep cycling the surge guard protector, which is hardwired. The panel says that low volts. Click image for larger version

What a pain.
Can I get suggestions on how to remedy?
I am about ready to remove the surge protector.

You usually need to bypass the EMS with a geni because it will read as an open ground and shut off without making the plug thing.

Doc73,
How do I bypass the EMS?
Should I remove the hard wired unit and go with a plug model? That would take the whole EMS out of equation.

If it's hardwired read the manual because I think it tell you how to bypass it. I have a plug in model and just do not use it with the geni.

The voltage is dropping below 102 V causing the surge protector to cycle. Make sure there is nothing else using AC (only the converter) when trying to charge the batteries.

If you want to avoid the bypassing each time (if that was the issue) check out the Google to make the grounding plug. You plug it into the geni and it solves the open ground issues. I think it is a wire from. The ground to the neutral but CONFIRM.

He has low voltage issues (per his codes), that has nothing to with the ground issue. He needs to put a volt meter on the genny with no load and again with a load. Check the amperage, it may be overloaded.

One thing I neglect to mention is I have a MAGNUM unit to charge battlers and provide AC.
could it be that the Magnum is pulling too many amps to charge batteries?

AC is not air conditioner.
But alternating current.

It could be. How many amps on the generator load?

Yeah not going to be able to run everything off the eu2000. Especially 50 amp services.

My Honda eU2000i trips on over current

My Honda generator trips when overloaded and doesn't provide any power. The Fault indicator comes on and won't reset without a shutdown and a restart.

A voltmeter at the generator will tell what is happening. Couple that with a voltmeter at the AC outlets in the coach. Harbor Freight VOMs are free with a coupon and a small purchase. I have a stack of them and carry one in the truck and the trailer. For good work I have two other meters that are bench top models but the HF meters are good enough for a quick check.

brother-in-law had a similar problem this past weekend with his Kingston 5er. When running his 4000W Champion gen none of his ground fault receptacles would work. He Grounded the gen and that didn't help. Any ideas?

Grounded the generator how?

Did he have the Edison plug that bonds the ground & neutral?

I have seen 17amps draw when the Magnum is charging the batteries.
I never run air conf if charging batteries.

You are overloading your generator, pulling 17 amps is 2040 watts. It's only rated for 1600 watts.

You don't say which magnum and how many amps. 100 amps would require about 1200 watts well within the Honda's ability. With not much of anything else powered.; assuming the batteries and charger are in Bulk mode. Keep in mind when on generator besides charging it's trying to power anything 120 vac that's on. To prevent open ground fault (not what you arr seeing) make a plug that ties neutral to protection ground like was suggested. You also need to consider with the Honda you will only have probably L1. It could take a combination of adapters to get a 50 amp EMS to be happy with 15 amps on one leg.

I have a Generac inverter generator. When I couldn't get any power to my TT with my Surge Protector plugged in I called Generac and was told I could not use surge protectors on generators, I believe because of the lack of grounding.
