Hum from speakers when water heater on

When my water heater is on (in electric mode) I get a hum from my radio speakers (with the radio on). Is there any way to get rid of this without shutting the radio off or putting the water heater in propane mode?

I get the same interference if I run my bath fan with the radio in AM. I think its a freq generated by the fan motor. In your case it may be both are on the same circuit if so try using a different power circuit for the radio or shielding the power and antenna feed. For me it just easier to shut the fan off.

Thanks for that. I'll see what I can do.

For clarification, this issue occurs whenever the stereo is on, not just listening to the radio.
