Inadvertant Test!
Last month I added a 2nd battery to our camper and never really had a chance to test the new endurance. Last weekend when we returned from our trip to Castaways RV Resort I plugged into our 15amp house power which gives us lights and charges the batteries.
I noticed that my large appliances like the electric fireplace and the TV were not working but I assumed I had popped a GFCI and filed it away. So, today I decided to check it out. It turns out that it was NOT the GFCI. When I returned from the trip last week I plugged into a power cord that was NOT plugged into the house power so my new battery set-up had been running the refrigerator, the fantastic fan (for one night) and the occasional lights. This has been the condition since last Saturday evening. The battery level had only dropped by 1/3 according to the house panel.
I would say that the new set-up works as planned.
