Interior Ceiling Light

My travel trailer has three lights very similar to the attached photo installed.. At first, I thought the incandescant bulbs were just not bright enough for us to see by (yelowish tint) so I replaced the bulbs with flat Led Panels that I got on the auction site.. They not only flickered after a few days use, the were BRIGHT-BRIGHT-BRIGHT-WHITE... I removed them and got replacement LED bulbs (barrel type) (picture) from an RV Parts store.. They lasted A LITTLE longer but were also BRIGHT-BRIGHT-BRIGHT-WHITE..as they failed and the brightness was over whelming, I replaced them in pairs with the factory incandescant bulbs.. Today I noticed that the fixtures with the original bulbs in them were starting to melt the lens on the inside.. I am sure that there is a LED replacement that not only will burn much cooler BUT not require the wearing of sunglasses when it is on.. What am I looking for?

I've been on the same road. I ended up using LEDs that were 2.5 watts each, two per fixture. Warm white. They are just a little whiter than the 20 watt incandescents and a little brighter. Pleasant lighting. Very little heat.
