Inverter lesson

2016 Sandpiper 5er. I've learned so much on this forum, thanks. I thought I would share this. I tested the inverter after our last trip. We got home late and tired so I left the food in the residential fridge with the inverter on for close to 16 hrs. The inverter was not able to make it and when I went to start my diesel Dodge the batteries were dead. So I learned something new

Or run an extension cord from a household outlet to power the CONverter which will keep batteries charged.

This is a regular sight in my neighborhood when people return home late from their trips and just want to go to bed. They first run cords from the house to trailer or MH's parked at the curb.

Not only is it easier on the food in the refer's, it's easier on the batteries that start losing capacity after they run dead.

Doesn't need to be a full 30 amp (or larger) hookup, a simple 15 amp wall outlet will keep the batteries charged.
