iRV 63 radio problem
RE: 2021 Rockwood 2109S.
Our iRV 63 radio didn't display the stereo symbol, or the equalizer settings as shown in the manual (page 6). It was just working as a mono radio (or CD/DVD player). And not pulling in very many stations.
The volume button is supposed to control bass, treble, and balance functions (page 4 section 5). It should change equalizer modes; rock, classic, etc. It didn't change the sound or display anything.
After contacting Quest Audio Video customer service, their warranty department offered to send us a new radio.
When installing the new unit, I noticed the blue "ANT POWER OUT" wire (manual page 15) was connected to the battery input negative wire. Three wires were crimped together: Black, Blue, and the trailer White wire, which is the battery negative. This is a dead short for the antenna power output.
After contacting Quest Audio Video again their product engineer confirmed that the connection was incorrect and could damage the radio. He advised to cut the blue wire and tape it off. Image attached.
New radio works fine. Many thanks to Quest Audio Video
Later I found that the Teton HD antenna has two parts. The TV antenna has an amplifier, but the radio antenna does not. So there's no use for the blue wire in this trailer.
