Is this fan-like noise normal?

I hooked my 27RKSS to 15A at home and hear a fan-like noise. It sounds like it's coming from the wall behind the stereo.

Nothing is powered on except the fridge. We're just prepping for a trip tomorrow.

Would it be normal to hear a fan-like noise. It's not particularly loud or annoying. Would this be the inverter?

Glad someone's out there to ask!

Most likely your inverter charging your batteries. Definitely normal.

It would be the "converter" charging" batteries and supplying 12 volts to lights, fridge etc etc

CONverter, not INverter.
All RVs have a converter.
Few RVs come with an inverter.

Your battery may be bad if the fan keeps running.
The fan cools the converter when it's working hard to recharge the battery.

Like CP said the sound is more then likely from your converter (I knew what you meant) the fan dissipates the heat when charging batteries. Inverters are installed on rigs that use residential style fridges and such. Mostly larger more expensive rigs

Overnight the noise stopped. I think we can chalk this up as being the converter running wide open to charge the battery. The first time we took the TT out for a trip I forgot to turn the tongue jack off. This resulted in the tongue jack light being on for a couple days (I noticed one night). I suspect that drained the battery down to less than normal level. Since then I've installed a battery cut-off switch and will be using it religiously each time I arrive home.

I agree it was the fan was from the converter and as you surmised, it came on because it was charging the battery.(ies)

You mentioned nothing else was on (no other load) but I did want to let you know not to be surprised if you hear the same fan when running many lights and/or loads.
Even with full batteries, my converter will kick the fan on if we turn on a bunch of lights and add high load to the converter.

You said it sounds like it is coming behind the stereo. I have a 30wikss V-Lite and I have a fan sound (noise). The stereo and the refrig are on the same slide, side by side. The fan noise I hear if from the refrig. It runs most of the time on hot days. We took a look to see what it was and it appears to be the size of a desktop computer fan. If any one has an idea of how to change it out, we would be interested. It does have a pitch to it that is annoying to my ears.

Do you have a residential fridge or dual gas/electric? If you have a residential fridge most likely you have an inverter. Residential refrigerators are becoming more and more popular in travel trailers.

If the fan noise is coming from the converter it would be obviously coming from the converter. The converter should always be accessable for fuse replacement. My guess is that someone installed a fan on the frig coils that is thermostatically controlled. I installed two on our last TT and it helped a lot on warm days to keep the frig temp down. In the cool evenings the fans where not needed and could be shut off.

Do as Grayfox said, but it is easy to change the fan or fans out. Your right they look like the computer fan, you can find them on ebay but make sure you get the ball bearing ones. I use to hear the fan run all the time, but now that problem is over, when a refer is in a slide it builds more heat then a unit with a roof top vent....

There may actually be an inverter installed behind the stereo. If you have a tv that is 120 volt only the only way it would work, if you are not hooked up, is through an inverter.

When I first bought my 355RE, fan in fridge bay made annoying noise.
I bought larger fan after researching online and replaced the factory unit.
Results were wonderful, much quieter with more air flow.
Also, old fan seemed to be poorly mounted which magnified noise.
I remounted new fan to better position this cured circulation and excessive noise problem.
