I know the directions say it won't work I just wonder why? Any explanation would be appereated as I want to learn. Jay
You have two hot wires in parallel (the 30A supply and the 15A supply) and two neutral wires in parallel. The electrons that come down each of the hot wires can go back through either of the two neutral wires. When one neutral wire carries more electrons back than its hot wire brought down, and the other neutral wire carries back fewer electrons than its hot wire brought down, the GFIs will see an imbalance, sense it as a ground leakage, and trip. The same thing will happen whether both or only one supply has a GFI.
