LCD (LED) lights turned into Disco Lighting

I probably know the answer to this question, but I figured I would ask the real experts. My 2019 Leprechaun has LCD lighting. On the last trip one of the LCD lights started blinking like a strobe light. Then a second one started blinking, so I figured it is time to change the bulbs. Once I popped off the cover, I realized there are not bulbs, but light emitting diodes. Question, do I have to replace the entire light, or just the defective diode?

Sadly, you have to replace the fixture. Your LED configuration is what is referred to as C.O.B. (Chips On Board). meaning it's an integrated circuit. The flashing is most likely a resistor on the board failing.

So they're not really LCD lights but LEDs. Take D W's advice.

You might want to buy a package of replacement lights. We have had to replace several on our 2020 Coachmen Concord. E trailer has one with a lifetime warranty on the LED lights instead of the normal one year warranty. We are trying those now.

That makes sense to me. I purchased 2 X 4 Light packs. I have lost two lights and know its only a matter of time on the others.

I don't think the lights I bought have a life time warrantee. I wish I knew about the lights with a lifetime warrantee.
Thanks for getting back to me,

How does the lifetime warranty work? Do you have to pack up the defective light and ship it at your expense to get a replacement?

While you can buy complete replacement lights, the chip is available as well. I've bought several and replaced it for less than a complete light.

There's some guy at most R/V shows that has them by the thousands but you can get them online.

Here's one such example on Amazon...

5picker, thanks for that info. I will order one of those as we have one light that has absolutely no slack in the wiring to be able to pull it out to replace the whole fixture.

BehindBars, don't know. Hoping I don't have to find out!

This light is a different style than mine. Mine are oval shaped with an on off switch that protrudes through the cover. There is also a switch on the wall to turn a group of lights on. Not sure if yours has the switch on the fixture but I had one doing that and was ready to order a replacement. I took the cover off and the light stopped being a strobe. Thinking something was loose I started banging on stuff and it still wouldn't flicker. I put the cover back on and noticed the switch and the hole in the cover didn't exactly line up. So after some playing around I found that the button on the light was slightly binding in the hole in the cover. Anyway, I jiggled things around and it doesn't do it anymore.

The lights on my rig do not have a switch. They are hard wired. I had to cut the lines and reconnect with wire nuts.
