LED Lighting

I am thinking about changing the lights in our trailer to led.
I have a few questions first.
What bulbs do I need?
Do I have to do anything special to the wiring? Or are they plug and play?
And so everyone knows it is a 2008 Puma. I would appreciate any help with this mod.

Pull a bulb and look up the number on superbrightleds. There is alot of variation in bulbs used in RV'S. I am happy with superbrightled, prices good (but not cheapest), but they have fantastic customer service. I had one wierd bulb, that took me three tries to get right and they just kept letting me send the wrong ones back.

Many here prefer the "warm white" color spectrum as being the best replacement for OEM's. or about 3000 kelvin's in temperature.

No wiring changes, just get the right bulb shape, size, brightness and color and that's it. The bulbs in my 2008 were different than my new unit, so there are no generalities.

If you post the bulb number, I can tell you what I would use, but that may or may not be what you want. I can say that in warm white about 17 LED's per bulb will be needed if you want to match the brightness of the incandescent's you are replacing, and those fixtures are a little more $$$ than the smaller bulbs.

Some here have used EBAY vendors from China with success, but I like to deal with a real business that has a presence here in the States.

I've used superbrightled before. Also check out
http://www.rv-led.com. The nice thing about them is that they give a lifetime warranty (to the original purchaser).

These are the ones in the picture. They have 15 LEDs, and are wedge based 194 type bulbs. You probably don't have these specific ones but rather bayonet style, but you can locate similar ones for your camper.

Yeah, the color was what I was illustrating, but there is a little less brightness. It was an IPhone and has no adjustment but was pretty accurate compared to what my eye was seeing. This bulb was 6.95$. And the next up had 18 LEDs but was 19.95$, and there ya go.

Or would these be betterin the rv seeing how they direct the light downward?

Soko that is the one I used in my upgrade. They work very well and direct all of the light down. I have been very happy with them. I got mine on Ebay/china had them in about a week. I couldnt believe how discolored the bulbs and scokets were in a less than two year old trailer.

"Superbrightled" gets their bulbs from China. They are a middle man. You can get them yourself from China and pay much less for them. The bulbs are the same.
