LED lights

I have LED lights in the closets and under the cupboards. I now have to press and hold the buttons in several times for them to come on. I use to just press and release the button and they came on. Please help if you have an idea.

Cheap buttons that have contamination on the contacts inside the button making the LED's intermittent. Replace the buttons or the lights if you can. Get someone electrically inclined to help you. Can you get a picture of the light/buttons posted?

You may be able to take off the housing... use a small flat blade screwdriver and try to pry off the outside housing from the back edge. This might expose the switch contacts. Take a nail file or emory board and try to clean the switch contacts. Probably the switch is sealed and only two wires will come out of the switch sealed in plastic.

Try this site for replacement LED...

I find the eraser on a pencil works well for cleaning contacts; ink eraser for really stubborn, dirty contacts. The eraser should be new, clean, still pliable; not old, dried out. After cleaning, a little petroleum jelly or contact anti-corrosion lube can be wiped on with a cotton swab to help keep it working; also good for battery [of almost any size] contact corrosion.

I’d try spraying some electrical cleaner in the switch before buying or ripping them apart. If it works great, if not just replace them, LED’s are cheap...

X2.
These lights in today's R/Vs are inexpensive (read cheap) and there isn't much that can be fixed on them other than a loose connection, maybe.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will get started on the lights first chance I get. I'll let you know how it goes.
