Light switch shorting and not tripping fuses

Hi, we have a 2010 Lexington GTS 295. We were woke up this morning at 4am with our living room light turning on and a smell of electric burning. On checking the fuses, they were fine . It turned out the living room light switch with dimmer was hot. We disconnected the electricity and now need to repair. What do we need to do? We are concerned that it shorted and didnít trip the fuse. ThNks for any help. Sue

Sounds like you either have a loose connection or a bad dimmer. Unless you have a short to ground or excessive amp draw, a fuse will not blow. Circuit breakers trip. That should be a 15 amp fuse. If higher amp, then that may be why it didn't blow/burn. Pull the switch from the wall and see what happened.
