Lighting problem

First time out in our 2006 Rockwood and half way through the evening the lights would get low for a few then get bright again. I had thought maybe the plug-in had come lose at the post but all was well. I’m stumped.

If you have a volt meter I would begin by checking the voltage at your battery. It sounds like you either have a converter that is going bad or your battery could be bad. You should be reading somewhere in the neighborhood of 13.1 - 13.3 give or take at your battery leads coming off the converter.

Wow 15yrs and your just taking it out thats allot of prep time! LOL just kidding. along with the previous poster I would add make sure the connections at the batteries are clean and tight also at the distribution panel. Sounds like something like the furnace is starting and drawing down the voltage.

If your lights that were blinking were your 12v ceiling lights, then you have to understand how the battery and converter work together with shore power.

A loose plug could have caused the converter (the device that provides 12v when plugged into shore power and charges the battery) to go off/on but if you have a good battery and it is charged, it shouldn't have a dramatic effect of flashing the lights.

As mentioned, check your battery(ies) and output of the converter.

Loose connections at converter and negative bus where all 12 V negative connections are made can cause this. Loose connections can cause converter to switch from one charge mode to another as it's not reading true battery voltage as loads can cause it to fluctuate.

Always a good idea to clean and tighten all screw connections at converter, 12v minus bus, and battery(s).

FWIW I had this issue when I had the original Lead Acid battery type converter. Since I changed to Lithium batteries and installed a fixed voltage converter my flickering light issue went away. Original converter was a WFCO8955.
