LIPPERT PSX2 Motor wire grommet repair

The grommet/strain relief for each motor of the stabilizer is dry rotting on me. Has anyone replaced the grommet, or successfully tried to use an RTV type sealant? I'd rather replace the grommet but can't find an exact copy. I did find the motors with cable on aliexpress for ~75 delivered. Thanks in advance!

Have you or anyone used Aliexpress ? I have heard some of their shipping is direct from China and can take over a month to receive.

I can't verify though........

I usually receive packages between one and four weeks. I've never tried to return an item given the shipping cost from here are too much to warrant the expense. I've only not received an item once and was promptly re-imbursed. I've had worse experiences with EBay, which direct ships from China too.

Aliexpress sells a clamp meter for under 20 I used to test general trailer wiring and e-brake operation.

I ordered some general purpose RTV from amazon. My plan is to tie wrap the cable to the Motor and Rtv the cable entry to waterproof it.

Went and looked at mine to see what I have. My motor has a rubber boot covering the motor and looks like the grommet is part of that.
It is all cracked though at the grommet since the wire is being pulled tight and flexing it.

On my to do list now to seal that up and check the other three.

I use Ali Express all the time. They quote the shipping time quite accurately for each item. If it says 6-8 weeks, it will be. And if it says 1 week, it will be.

For the fast shipments, the items are shipped via air-freight bulk in a big crate to a re-shipper somewhere in the US, already labelled with their final destinations via USPS Ground. The re-shipper just opens the crates and gets a USPS pickup.

Attached are a couple of examples of arbitrarily-picked switches. Look at the right for delivery date info,

PSX2 motor wire grommet repaired

Final repair for the PSX2 motor(s) was to secure the wire to the motor body with two 12" tie wraps. Using brake cleaner to clean the existing rubber grommet cutting off parts of the boot that are not salvageable. Apply a layer of RTV to the boot filling in as much of the old boot as possible. If possible secure the boot and RTV with a small tie wrap, adding more RTV after the tie wrap is tightened. And finally wrap a layer of electrical tape around the repair. Should last awhile now.
