Lost running lights
Hi, I was installing a back up camera today and I have now lost all running/clearance lights. The truck lights still come on but nothing on the trailer. I don't think I shorted across any wires but the camera worked before final install and now nothing. Is there a fuse in the trailer wiring somewhere? I have no power at port 3 on the truck side of the trailer plug but have tail lights on the truck...HELP

What kind of truck? On most trucks fuses for trailer lights are in a fuse box under the hood and they are not the same ones as for the truck lights. Owners manual gives the map.

Probably blew a fuse in the truck.

No trailer running lights
Hi Dan, I looked and didn't see a separate fuse. It is a 2018 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X. The writing on the fuses is so small it makes it hard on old eyes. Getting dark here so I will look again tomorrow.

Check your trucks owners manual. As others have said you probably have a trailer lamp fuse in the truck.

I found the fuse listing and nothing there. I had to add a 3 relay wiring harness for the brake controller so it may be related to that. I will call Nissan tomorrow and see if they can help. Everything else seem to be working. I learned my lesson. Next time I buy a truck with the brake controller and all wiring in place from the factory. The lights were working earlier and I really don't remember shorting anything out but who knows.

Look in the truck's owners manual for the correct fuse location.

This is the 3rd time the owners manual has been suggested.

I had this happen, turns out that the factory wire nut had come loose in the metal junction box where the 7-way plug pigtail ties into the trailer.

tail lights
I moved the truck inside this morning. Once inside I could read the extremely small writing on the fuse layout for the underhood box. The F4 fuse is located clear at the bottom and is very difficult to see and test but I was able to check with a test light. It was bad. I checked you tube and found out the panel lifts out and rotates to provide access. It is probably a blessing it happened in the driveway. If it happened at night on the road and you had to start from scratch it would be a real problem. Lesson learned.......find your trailer fuse before you hit the road. LOL.

So does that mean your running lights are fixed?
