LP Gas detector????

Ok here another one I’m going to assume, since there are no lights on at all, that nobody is home. No operating light, no alarm light no fault light. But what’s the deal with the plug coming out from the bottom? I did install an additional smoke / CO2 detector in the bedroom is that sufficient or do I need to get this LP gas detector working ?

General Rule

As a general rule, you want a working propane detector. Propane is heavier than air, so it will stay toward the ground. If you have a leak, it may be a while before you smell it, and it would be really dangerous.

As to what are the wires sticking out below it -- my guess is that they have nothing to do with the propane detector and were just a convent place to run wires into the living area for the previous owner.

Best thing to do is remove the detector and see if it is connected to power and check if there is power there.
Yes, you do need an operating propane detector.

That connector looks like something someone added. I do not see it in this PDF: http://www.gulfstreamcoach.com/media...770-Manual.pdf

Yes, you need a functioning propane leak detector.

^^^^X2. Looks like they might have disconnected the wires to put in that green thing that looks suspiciously like a charge port.

Yeah I don’t know what the jumper is but I unscrewed the LP detector and it jumped off the detector wires. Havnt PUT a volt meter on it yet to see if I have any power.

So the detector was not connected to the power wires?

No it is but that jumper that comes out from underneath is wired into the detector. But the detector does not seem to have power

Wondering if the previous owner lost power at the wires to the detector and that plug was their way of powering the detector.

LP detector like the one pictured has a service life of 5 years. This one is long expired. After that it stops working properly. I don't know the symptoms but these BEEP with low battery voltage and one way so stop the beeping is to disconnect them.

Don't know what that connector sticking out is for.

Detector needs to be near the floor. There are replacements available. Google the model number. Pull this one and measure the size of the opening. Mine is long expired as well so a new one will go in in later this summer.
