New 2017 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS Power Questions

The question is on Battery power... I was under the impression that it would run pretty much everything except maybe the AC, not sure on that...

Two weeks ago, we purchased a Wolf Pup 16BHS, took it camping last weekend, we were plugged into our camp sites power, everything seemed to work as it should.

When we got to the Dump station on the way home and went to dump the Black and the Grey tanks, I figured I'd use 1/3-1/2 tank of fresh water left to help flush out the Black tank.. However, the pump would not work (I did switch the pump on)....

Didn't think much about it, today I started wondering why not???

If I go out and plug it into AC (we have an outlet in the outbuilding we park it in) everything works, if I unplug the AC, nothing works...

Shouldn't everything run off the Batt, at least for awhile???

Also, when plugged in AC power It should actually charge up the Battery???

I'm going to pick up a volt meter tonight if I can to check voltage at the Battery...

There is not a huge control panel in this TT like alot of yours all I see is a small one over the sink that has 4 Push buttons for monitoring Fresh, Grey and Black Tanks as well as Battery. Then two switches, one for Pump, one for Water Heater. Other than that the only two switches I see are for the outside lights (one white, one yellow).

I tried reading though the 75 different manuals that came in one of the overhead cabinets, but did not find anything of value...

The inline circuit breaker near the tongue is most likely tripped. It should have a little black button on the side of it that you press to reset it.

If your battery is very low it will sometimes trip the breaker when trying to operate a high draw device.

Nope, no Fusible link or Circuit breaker... On lunch, I ran out and looked all over and under the tongue... The only modules there are the Safety Brake deal, where if the TT comes off the hitch, the Breaks lock up...

I did find a Fuse panel inside that is mounted under the Furnace...

At 1st, I assumed it was another service panel for the Furnace, but when I opened it, it has several breakers all "on" like I'd think they should be and a row of small fuses like cars have.. None of them look burnt.. I know they don't always look burnt, but I did not want to go pulling all of them out right now...

Looks like I'm going to have to take it back to the dealer...

I just got off the phone with him, he called while I was looking at it...

Also, he just told me the only thing that should run off the 12 Volt power is the lights (two outside and a few in the Ceiling and Bunks)...

I thought for sure I was told everything but the Air Con, would run off the battery... So much for any ""Dry Camping" without a Genset...

But even with that the lights don't work and the battery shows like its dead on that monitoring panel... Unless its plugged into the AC Outlet, then everything works...

Still hoping its something stupid I'm not doing... I'm very new to this, so I'm not above making mistakes or forgetting a step here or there...

So, he wants me to bring it in...

That sucks, we have another camping trip, not this weekend but next and I don't really have time to get it into him...

I'm hoping maybe Sat Afternoon, I can make time...

Nearly all trailers have the resettable breaker but most owners miss them when looking.
Your trailer has one.

They are usually tucked up inside the A-frame.

And everything should run on 12v battery power except microwave, a/c and 110v outlets.

Not sure where it would be.

This one has a solid frame, its not C Channel like my utility trailer or my old POP -UP had...

I went out and looked at the tongue again and followed the wires...

Come out of the Battery box and into a Maybe 3/4" Wire-loom, runs about 12-14 inches along the frame to under the front of the Camper, then goes up inside to the Cargo area under the Front Bed....

When you lift that up you don't really see much except the back side of the Water Heater and the Fresh Water Pump.

I'll try and attach a few pics if it will let me...

Open up that wire loom and take a look inside. I found a fuse hidden inside the wire loom on our current RV. I'd never have found it if I hadn't opened the loom up to trace the wiring.

Have you pulled the converter out and checked the 12 volt connection into it?
Also, have you tested the reverse polarity fuses in the converter?

Also did not, not sure I'm brave enough for that on a new camper...
For curiosity sake, I'll take a look for that, and see what I see...

If I don't figure it out before Sat Morn, I'm going to take it back to the dealer, he sounded pretty interested in figuring out the issue as well and he said he owes me a new Propane tank for mine coming empty and having to go buy another...

I think you are right he should check the Rev. Polarity fuses. Might try plugging in his TV to see if he gets 12 v power.

OK, Problem found... You guys that said it was a breaker nailed it...

There was a really small breaker like an inch long X half in wide up mounted up under the trailer right where the wires go into the trailer, its real small and the wires hide it pretty good...

The button to reset it is so small you can't really see it either...

In fact, its a small hole on the bottom of it, smaller than a screw head and you have to have one of those test light probs to poke into the hole to reset it... Once I did that, the lights will come on and the Fresh water Pump works...

Yep, many say they've looked for it and couldn't find it.

But it's there and such a simple solution.

Every buyer of a RV, should ask where the resettable breaker is.

I know from personal experience how hard those fuses/breakers can be to find.

No problem... That's how we all learn and get ideas for possible solutions...

I crawled under there to have a look at it myself, so if it does it again, I can do resolve it myself...
