Never seen anyone do this. Most guys I know make the switch to 6V as soon as they can. If you evaluate how much money you spent per amphour of battery capacity you kinda went the most expensive route.
130 hours at $190 = $1.46/amphour
105 hours at $80 = $1.31/amphour (anyone's Group 27)
225 hours at $250 = $1.10/amphour (two trojan 6v T105s)
There are many reasons why guys go to 6V batteries for dry camping and this is just one of them. No doubt you will have more amphours available to you and Trojan makes some of the best batteries available. For dry camping it is important to have as much capacity as you can in my book. I would have gone two Group 27s over the single Trojan which would have given you 210 amphours for less money if you didn't want to make the switch to the 6V batteries. Is it too late to take it back and trade it in?
