No battery power to 2015 Mini Lite 2306

Hello everyone!!

I have a puzzling situation. Bought our camper in February of last year from Camping World in Valdosta, GA. We have used it about once a month since we’ve had it. Everything was working fine, but when I went to get it from storage a few weeks ago, the battery was dead. It had only been sitting about 3 weeks since the last time we had used it. The battery disconnect was in the “Pushed in” position. I took the battery in to be charged, but when I got it back, still no power to the camper. I do however, have power the jack….but not to the camper. I’m not sure what else to check. I’m thinking that maybe I just need to try a new battery. I don’t see any external switches that could have disconnected the power. Not sure why it would have drained. While connected to power, the battery disconnect would be in “Pulled out” position to charge the battery.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!!

When you put battery back in did you pull the battery disconnect out to restore power?

When you put the battery back in, did you mistakenly hook up the cables backwards and blow the two big fuses on the converter?

I did pull the disconnect to restore. I'm also confident that I reconnected the battery correctly. However, where can I find the converter fuses to make sure?

While you are working on that be aware that the battery disconnect switch will not turn off all devices that can drain your battery. The LP gas detector as well as radio will drain your battery. You must either leave the RV plugged in and charging or totally disconnect your battery. Many people install a battery disconnect switch.

Thanks!! What about turning off main power at the breaker? Will that keep the camper from drawing power?

I'll be looking for this when I get home today. Hopefully it will get me fixed up.

NO, that breaker is on the 110 volt circuit. You need to kill the 12 volt side of things. Unhook battery or install a true 12 volt kill switch. The LP detector is installed directly on the 12 volt circuit for safety sake. They want LP gas leak detection no matter what.

I also have a 2306 and did the same thing until I learned that the built in kill switch does NOT kill all power. A big problem for both of us is that once a battery is drained to zero it will never be the same. If you plan on boon docking you might consider a new battery or some type of setup that boosts battery power. By that I mean a double battery setup.

Isn't there an inline fuse near the battery also? I'm not home to check mine but I was thinking there was.

If your tongue jack worked your battery was not completely drained. Did you take a voltmeter to the battery before recharging? Don't go buying a new battery until you have the problem fixed with the recharged battery. A new battery probably is only necessary if you (or your spouse) have a low risk tolerance.

drain battery

A battery that was drain completely can be back to is original qualety but
the secret is that you have to recharge it with not a trailer charger or a cheap automatic charger.
You have to use a good deep cycle manual mode charger.(15 amp or more)
It will take abought 15 hrs to recharge all cells and you have to monitor with a acid densety tester.
If all the cells are not equal after one charge, let it rest for a day and try to charge it again until all ceels are full charge.
I have battery`s that are 10 years old and they have been completely discharge many time and still very good in my trailer.

Guess who's got power from the battery........ME!!!! Thanks guys for all of your help. The problem was that I didn't know what I was looking at. That small fuse or whatever under the camper has a reset button on it. Just had to press it. I was looking for something bigger.

Thanks again for the help!!!!

That is a 12 volt, manual reset circuit breaker. You found the reset button.

Now with mystery solved, tell me where the handle Rattler 96 cam from. That sounds remarkably like our unit call sign when I was in RVN a bit over four decades ago.
