Question No Power when Unplugged- solved

I purchased a new 2013 Rockwood Ultra Light 2902 SS that was delivered to us. On our first outting we noticed we had no running lights, tail lights or brake controller. We stopped at a vehicle repair shop. The tech showed me that when he wiggled the 8 pin plug, the lights would come on. They installed a new plug on my trailer harness and I was on my way. After arriving our camp grounds, I noticed that I had no power before I plugged into shore. We had power when we left the house (running off the battery). I thought maybe the tech blew a fuse when installing the plug. I did see him have trouble wiring the plug. We plugged into the camp grounds and had no trouble (30amp). When we returned home I checked the fuses inside the trailer and they were good. Pushed the knob in and out a few times. I looked under the trailer where the wire runs from the battery to a 3 pole connector. They were 2 fuses that were good. Any help on what else I can check? I bought it from Ohio so returning to selling dealer is not an option since I live in South Texas. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

The only 2 things that I can think of is the battery disconnect switch or the 30A in-line fuse close to the battery under the tongue. That would explain no 12V power. If you can check the battery it should read about 12.7V if fully charged and the shorepower unplugged.

No Power

Dave,

Thank you for your reply. The 30A in-line fuse is good. What does the battery disconnect switch look like? Does the + battery wire hook directly to it?

Thanks in advance,

John

Here's an example of a switch and yes it would be on the positive wire close to the battery. I've seen some mounted is the front storage compartment.

There is a 30 amp reset-able current limiter inline with the truck/camper to battery line. It has a small button on the side that you can press in to reset the fuse.

No Power

Gentlemen,

Thank you so much for your help. I was checking the in-line fuse not the reset-able current limiter. I pushed the button and my problems are gone.

I love the way this Community helps each other!!

Thanks again!!!
