I searched the forums for help with a 2002 Workhorse HVAC Blower motor resistor issue with little results and no apparent solutions. I saw that there was no Workhorse chassis forum and assume that there are not enough of these chassis to justify a forum. So I am curious if anyone knows much about the early Georgetown production history.
The point of this post is to suggest that
https://www.classicindustries.com/ does sell a blower resistor for that era of Cheverolet-based vehicles. Part # 15958233 '85 -'07 GM trucks.
That isn't the hard part (no pun).
My 2002 Georgetown blower is way up under the dash in the passenger side front corner. I believe I will have to pull the passenger seat to gain access for my old body.
I am planning to detail the process here of making the repair if there is any interest. Has anyone had any experience on the Workhorse or even the Ford chassis making this repair? I wonder how many older units are running around with high fan only rather than breaking their back or bank account getting the repair done.
P.S. I love that 8.1 L. We set it at 60 MPH and get almost 11 MPG as long as we stay out of the mountains.
