that's why i mention a strong mixture . Not 1 or 2 oz a gallon but 8 or more . won't hurt anything and will clean it up faster . then once clean you can mix it with other gas to dilute

I’m don’t have experience with the alcohol and gumming, but I know it causes the aluminum to corrode.

So I’m thinking of replacing the carb, I tried to clean it and ran fuel and sea-foam but still not running like it should.
I looked online, and found some on Amazon, but at a fraction of the cost! That is usually a red flag. Thoughts?

All I know is when I had a 2011 Silverado FlexFuel and it started to randomly throw check engine my chevy dealer service manager told me to run a tank of E85 through it about every 6 months to keep the injectors clean. Never had another check engine afterwards.

Nope, this is not going to cut it. You can't just run Seafoam through it and expect magic. Take off the carb and take it to a shop and ask them to clean it, they will tank the carb for a long while. Resemble and run fresh 89 oct through it, you may need to readjust the needle valves for slow and high speed. Once running correctly then add Seafoam 1 to 2oz per gallon of gas in the tank all the time. Run the engine every 30 days with load.

I have bought several carbs from eBay and Amazon....prolly 10 or more(I don’t take very much care of my 2cycles) and only got 1 bad one for an Echo trimmer, but I have had lots of carb trouble with that(kits cost more than a cheap carb on 2 cycle). I always look at the reviews if I doubt.

Repair or replace at your own choice. Me? New one and keep the old for a rainy day project.

So I had the same problem with a friends unit but was still under “warranty” with the dealer so I stepped away from messing with it. Dealer sold him a new carb and put a fuel cutoff switch down stream to turn off and run out of fuel.

So we replaced the carb and still had issues, we took it to a shop and they said the carb was not running correct because the throttle screw was screwed all the way out. [emoji19]

A Toyota dealer pulled that on me many years ago to sell a full engine rebuild. Fortunately a local service station found his trick and bailed me out.
