Onan Rv hookup??

We installed our Onan RV 4000 evap the other day, runs great, starts good, but got a question? Where in the world do you hook the power wires up on the 29hfs?? This trailer is generator prepped so I know they are around somewhere. Could someone please send us a pic of where they hookup at?

The best place to wire your genset in is an automatic transfer switch. I have no idea what “generator prepped” means.

It is my understanding that many trailers have an outlet that that is wired to the installed generator. You plug your shore power cord into it rather than the power pedestal. Could the trailer be pre wired with this outlet so a generator could be installed later? Just like pre-wired for solar.

Generator prep packages should have a Grey box near the generator (in the battery compartment next to the generator compartment on my Wolfpack). That is the automatic transfer switch. You wire the generator into that box. You should really be familiar with electrical work, or hire an electrician to do it for you.

it would help if you posted the make / model of the trailer. our came with generator prep. that included the automatic transfer switch but i don't think there were loose wires installed for the generator to connect to. look to see if you have an automatic transfer switch. the existing shore power cable will go into it and then out of it to the distribution panel. if you have it you need wire the generator output to the generator input side of the automatic transfer switch. if you do not have an automatic transfer switch i'm not sure exactly what your generator prep includes.
