Parallel Generator question.

We bought a pair of Yamaha 2000s and we are going to run them in parallel. Does it matter which generator we draw from?

With the Yamaha you should have a parallel kit and draw from that. It plugs into both generators and you plug 30a to that.

Ours has just the cables. I’ll take some photos.

Maybe the model number or pictures would be good. The parallel kit for the 2000s should wire up like this and you plug into the 30A outlet.Click image for larger version

So the new Yamaha generators are smart. They don’t care which side you use. By the way a pair of these is quieter than our actual AC unit.

I like the two generators tied into a single 30 amp receptacle. With the Honda 2000 series you plug the RV into the Companion unit but you can run either one separately, obviously with half the power output. Looks like some of the Yamaha’s are the same.

I think you are the smart one. Yamaha engine without the Yamaha price. Nice job finding those. Saved $600-800.

I think you use the one on the left....should not matter in this case either will work.

It looks like you need an adaptor for the RV but that's not a big deal at all. Did it come with one or did you get it seperately?

Just to clarify for others, those are NOT Yamaha generators.
They are made in China and have a Yamaha engine. None of the rest is Yamaha.

WOW, did you look at the shipping weight on that gen? 116lbs??? Even allowing 15 lbs for the box, and 10 lbs for the other "accessories" and whatnot, that would be a 90+ pound 2000 watt generator...

Nope.

It does not matter which generator your cable is physically connected to. Each one will supply half the required power.
